California's National Parks Will Likely Close During Government Shutdown |
According to an article I just read, all of the National Parks in California are going to close during the government shutdown. This includes the big ones: Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Lassen Volcanic, Channel Islands and all the rest. Most of the park employees are going on furlough, so there is a good chance the parks could close within the next 48 hours. I think that its insanely ridiculous that the government is going to close all the national parks because of a dispute over healthcare. This is going to cost California a ton of revenue in lost tourism. I bet I vote for Ron Paul again in the next election.
Update: Most of the 401 National Parks are now closed. Even some of the websites are down.
